Create a new user account

 

  Welcome to Riffyn!

Creating a Riffyn account enables you to see all public processes on your organization's instance of Riffyn, allow other users to share content with you, and gives you full access to Riffyn Help Center. If you are a member of a non-profit institution, you may request an individual Open Access (OA) account directly from Riffyn. 

 


 

What's your company policy?

Your company policy determines how you are allowed to create a new Riffyn account.

1. Request from Riffyn admin
Most companies require their designated Riffyn Admin to create new user accounts. If this is your company's policy, you must contact your company's Riffyn Admin to request a new user account. If you do not know who the designated Riffyn Admin is at your company, email us at support@riffyn.com. We can provide you with that information.
2. Self-registration

If your company allows new users to self-register, then anyone with an email address from your company can create a new Riffyn account. To self-register, you must know the URL your company uses to access Riffyn.

  • If your company has an account on the multi-tenant cloud instance of Riffyn, then your company URL is https://app.riffyn.com.
  • If your company has a Virtual Private Cloud instance of Riffyn, then your company URL is https://www.yourcompanyname.riffyn.com.

If you do not know the URL your company uses to access Riffyn, contact support@riffyn.com, and we will provide you with this information.

 


 

Method 1: Admin-created account 

To request a new user account from your Riffyn Admin, follow these steps.

  1. To request your account, contact your Riffyn Admin.

  2. If your Riffyn Admin grants your request, you will receive a welcome email. 

  3. From the welcome email, click Activate Account.

  4. On the account activation page, create and confirm your new password and account recovery questions

 

Result

  • After you set up your new account, the browser redirects you back to your Riffyn environment.

 


 

Method 2: Self-registration

To self-register for an account, follow these steps. 

  1. Go to the URL your company uses to access Riffyn: https://app.riffyn.com or https://www.[yourcompanyname].riffyn.com.

  2. From the login screen, click Need help signing in?  

  3. Click Create an Account.

  4. Complete the form with the requested information. Do not use your email address for your username.

  5. Click Register.

  6. You will receive a welcome email with activation instructions to set your account password and recovery questions.

  7. To finish the registration process, click Activate Account.

  8. Enter your new password. And choose your recovery question.

 

Result

  • After you set up your new account, the browser redirects you back to your Riffyn environment.

  


 

Method 3: Open Access 

If you are a member of a non-profit institution, you may request an individual Open Access (OA) account directly from Riffyn. To create an Open Access account, complete the form to Request an Open Access Account.

Next steps

  • After someone from Riffyn validates your membership at a non-profit institution and grants you an account, you will receive a welcome email with instructions to activate your OA account.
