When should I put things into a group?

This is really just a matter of aesthetics. Do whatever makes it easier for you to read, understand and navigate your process. Groups do not impact your data acquisition or analysis in any way. So use them, or not, as you wish.

One thing you can do with a group: you can promote it to an independent process. This creates a new process in the library with the contents of that group, and then links that independent process to the current one and replaces the original group. The new linked process can now live an independent life. That’s a handy shortcut for creating modularity when your process grows too big and unwieldy.
