Using Property Values

A property is an attribute of a resource or of a component. The data for a process are stored as property values in Measure Mode. Property values are the measurements of a process and are associated with a specific resource. Therefore, any piece of data to be recorded should be entered as a property value assigned to a resource.

There are two types of property values:

  • Single valued properties - used when recording a single value measured for a run. A typical example of this would be the lot of glucose used when making a batch of media.
  • Multi-valued properties - used when recording multiple measurements for the same run. A typical example of this is time course data captured across the duration of a run.

Fixed properties of a resource will be unchanged whenever the resource is used. This aspect of a fixed property could also be used as a mechanism of automated data entry as whenever a resource is assigned the fixed property values will be used.
